Senior Solicitor Vacancy – Hastings, East Sussex

The Elaine Parkes offices in Hastings are looking for an experienced Senior Solicitor to join our thriving practice in our seaside home.

Applicants should have a primary focus, and proven experience, in family law areas including, but not necessarily limited to, divorce, financial matters and children proceedings.

You will need to manage your own client caseload, and deliver services across these areas of expertise, while being able to liaise with our administrative teams for support, working with families and clients across Hastings and the surrounding areas.

Senior Solicitor Job Specification:

Qualifications: Proven experience of at least five years and appropriate qualifications in key areas of professional expertise – divorce, financial matters and children proceedings.

Professional Skill Requirements:

  • Ability to manage a client caseload.
  • Commitment to best practice.
  • Excellent organisational and team management skills.
  • Flexibility to parachute into new projects and manage them to completion.
  • Experience or a willingness to learn our cloud-based Case Management System and digital dictation software.

Job Role Specifications:

  • Providing legal advice to clients across a range of family law matters.
  • Liaising with the Brighton office to manage clients new and existing.
  • Supporting the ongoing development of the Family Law Department.
  • Undertaking advocacy work.
  • Working alongside the Marketing Manager to strategise for future growth.

Legal Aid Solicitor Vacancy – Hastings, East Sussex

We are also seeking a Legal Aid Solicitor to join our busy Hastings team.

As an area placed highly on the Indices of Multiple Deprivation, there is a strong possibility that a proportion of our clients will be entitled to, and in need of, Legal Aid support, making this a critical part of our service to support each family we work with.

Therefore, we are looking for a Solicitor with prior experience in the Legally Aided Family Proceedings sector to assist us in offering this vital service to clients where required.

Alongside our administrative support team and other Solicitors, you will be required to manage your own caseload, and provide professional services to clients, primarily at our Hastings office, but also around the nearby areas including liaison with our Brighton offices.

Legal Aid Solicitor Job Specification:

Qualifications: Professional experience and appropriate qualifications across the spectrum of Legally Aided Family Proceedings.

Professional Skill Requirements:

  • Beneficial to have a working knowledge of the Legal Aid Client and Case Management System (CCSM) and costing processes.
  • A commitment to outstanding service and best practise.
  • Proven organisational skills and the ability to manage a support team.
  • Flexible approach to undertaking new projects and managing them.
  • Experience of, or able to learn, our cloud-based Case Management System and digital dictation software.
